MARGARITA CAPPOCK: Eithne Jordan

Join us on Friday 8 November at 5.30pm for a talk on the work of Eithne Jordan by art historian Dr. Margarita Cappock.

Dr. Margarita Cappock is an art historian, curator, and writer based in Dublin City Arts Office. A graduate of University College Dublin, she was Project Manager of the Francis Bacon Studio Reconstruction and subsequently Head of Collections at the Hugh Lane Gallery from 1999 to 2018. She is the author of Francis Bacon’s Studio (2005) and A Guide to the Hugh Lane Collection. She is a regular contributor of scholarly articles and essays on Irish and British artists to national and international exhibition catalogues, publications, and art journals.

Eithne Jordan was born in Dublin. She studied at Dun Laoghaire School of Art from 1972-76. She has lived for periods of time in London and Berlin (where she went initially on a DAAD scholarship) and currently divides her time between Ireland and France. She has exhibited widely in Europe, and is a member of Aosdana and the RHA. Her work is in major public and private collections in Ireland, Europe and the U.S.
